Jones Soda Pulls The Plug On Cannabis Line, Mary Jones Sells For $3 Million

Jones Soda’s foray into cannabis is officially over—for now.

After launching its cannabis-infused Mary Jones brand in 2022, the iconic soda company has sold the division for $3 million to MJ Reg Disrupters. The move comes just three years after the company expanded into the cannabis space with high hopes and a full lineup of infused sodas, gummies, and syrups.

Mary Jones was one of several experimental product lines from Jones Soda, alongside its probiotic drinks, caffeinated sodas, and hard craft beverages. While the brand saw some buzz in its early rollout, the cannabis division only made up 8% of Jones Soda’s revenue in the first quarter of 2025—making it a logical first cut in the company’s broader effort to streamline its offerings.

Still, Jones Soda believed it had a competitive edge. “We do things all the time that Big Soda couldn’t possibly pull off,” said Chief Marketing Officer Bohb Blair in an earlier interview with FoodDive. “We honestly have a brand that is leverageable in this space and [the soda companies] do not, even legally. You have to be an adult brand to bring your brand marks into cannabis.”

While the Mary Jones chapter has closed, Jones Soda isn’t stepping away from cannabis completely. The company confirmed it will continue selling its hemp beverage line, which has seen consistent growth since its launch in early 2024.
