Blade Runner 2049 Brings Johnnie Walker Black Back To The Future

If you love the original ‘Blade Runner’ then you know that Rick Deckard’s drink of choice was Johnnie Walker Black Label. And while some things in the long-awaited sequel, ‘Blade Runner 2049’ have changed, that hasn’t.

To celebrate the film’s release, Johnnie Walker has created Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut, a limited-edition scotch whisky. Master Blender Jim Beveridge collaborated with the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve, on the experimental blend that is inspired by the film and is presented in a futuristic bottle.

“What we have created in Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut is something really special that fans will be able to relate to and whisky drinkers will love,” says Beveridge. “I was truly inspired by Villeneuve’s artistic vision for ‘Blade Runner 2049’ and how it could come to life in this new blend. I learned that filmmaking is much like blending – you have to constantly be committed to creating the best possible outcome.”

You can buy the special edition whisky now in advance of the film’s Oct. 6 release but you may want to hurry. Only 39,000750 ml bottles were made and each will retail for $89.99.
